A new, centrally located building was intended as the new shared headquarters for the staff of Philips, previously scattered all over Hamburg. In the eyes of the draft’s authors, the Sechslingspforte site is an ideal mirror of the company’s dynamism. The result was a building which radiates dynamic energy, but at the same time with its configuration of two counterpoised high-rise slabs exudes a calm balance and focused concentration.
