The Steindamm, originally built in 1593 as the first paved street outside Hamburg's city walls, evolved into a bustling main shopping street around 1880, characterized by four-story residential buildings. The existing structure from the 1970s is being modernized as part of a comprehensive renovation, which includes an additional story and a new facade. After the refurbishment, the building will house a hotel with approximately 130 rooms. The new facades will provide an aesthetic alignment with the historic perimeter block development, ensuring contemporary urban integration.
