Charles de PicciottoArchitekt BDA

Beitensemble, Hamburg

The villa, built between 1889 and 1891, has been a listed building since 2004. The builder Alfred Beit, a diamond magnate, commissioned the Hamburg architects Stammann and Zinnow, who had shortly before built the new Hamburg Town Hall. The quality of the interior decoration, ceiling and wall paintings, stucco work and wood inlays are unique, a comparable private villa cannot be found in Hamburg.
The existing building was supplemented, in close coordination with the Office for the Protection of Monuments, by a directly connected new building, so that a striking ensemble was created in the spacious park.
